About Yardline

Yardline is an independent fan project that follows every backyard ultra we can find, live, in one place. It is not affiliated with Big's Backyard Ultra, any race, or any timing company.

Where the results come from

Live results come straight from each race's timing provider (RACE RESULT, UltraSignup, RunSignup, Backyard Timing, Realtime Racing) or the race director's own spreadsheet, checked every two minutes. The race calendar and past results come from the official backyard ultra race list and world rankings. Every race page links back to its source. Where a provider doesn't make its data openly available, we only link to it.

Spotted a mistake?

Results are only as good as the source. If a time or yard count is wrong, the race director or timer can fix it at the source and we'll pick it up within minutes. For anything else (a wrong name match, a missing race, a broken link) email team@yardline.run.

How Yardline is paid for

Everything here is free for fans, and always will be: live results, the calendar, runner histories and alerts. The running costs are covered by fans who chip in (support Yardline) and, on some race weekends, by a sponsor shown on the live pages in a clearly labelled card. Sponsors never affect results, rankings or the order races are listed in, and we never sell or share data about anyone.
