Popeye’s Backyard Ultra
Popeye’s Backyard Ultra runs on Greenland Open Space, 1,200 acres of Douglas County public land on the Palmer Divide between Denver and Colorado Springs. The yard is a 4.167-mile loop on dirt and crushed gravel through rolling gold grassland, oak draws, ponderosa and rocky mesas, with the Front Range filling the western horizon and the old railroad town of Greenland at the trailhead.
